Masoro Health Center
The Masoro Health Center is a campus that offers a diversity of experiences, and provides our client-community with health and wellbeing services, education, food cultivation and preparation training, in a shared inclusive and open community space . We use the site’s topography to compose a series of buildings, coverings, terraces and ramps to differentiate the major exterior functions while maintaining accessibility for all. As part of the project we provided construction training to under-employed local villagers, then hired them to build the center. The result is a community-based project with a shared sense of authorship and ownership, prioritizing pedestrians, supplying water and food infrastructures and providing a flexibility of use for current and future needs.
